Anderson Police Marking Think Pink Month With Special Coin

Anderson Police Department is handing out special pink breast cancer awareness coins to collect toys for needy kids. The department is promoting breast cancer awareness in October by allowing officers to wear pink uniform shirts and even make arrests with pink handcuffs. The limited edition APD Pink Challenge Coin features a pig on one side bearing the APD shoulder patch and a pink ribbon on the other side with the Anderson city seal. Until the end of the month people can acquire the coins at the police department on North Street by trading for a new unwrapped toy worth at least $10. The toys will be given to the Shasta Thrive Manter House and the Good News Rescue Mission for their Christmas celebrations.
