Escaped Convict Found After Month On The Lam

A Tehama County convict has been captured after being on the run for a month. After being convicted of possession of stolen property, drug possession and resisting arrest, 24-year-old George Minor had been serving his sentence by working on the jail work farm and spending his nights at a transitional housing facility. On September 26th after completing a day of work on the farm, Minor went back to the halfway house, packed his things, and walked away. The sheriff’s office was later contacted by someone who had found Minor’s discarded electronic ankle monitor in the front yard of their Antelope Boulevard house. Deputies have been looking for Minor for a month until Tuesday, when they spotted him riding as a passenger in a car at the intersection of Stagecoach and Oakridge Roads. After seeing he had been recognized, Minor got out of the car and ran, but he was caught after short foot pursuit. He’s now charged with escape and is being held without bail.
