Remains Of Missing Man Reportedly Found In Burned Out Car

A man from Riverside who was reported missing in Redding was murdered. 47-year-old David Allen Borders had last been seen at 1:30AM last Friday October 20th at the Valero Gas Station at South Bonnyview and Churn Creek. A break in the case came when a Toyota Camry was found abandoned and burned in Eastern Shasta County with unrecognizable human remains inside. Cal-Fire and Redding Fire Investigators determined that the fire was intentional and the person inside had been murdered. RPD Investigators met with members of Borders’ family and learned that the night he disappeared he had been meeting some people for a marijuana deal and had gotten into an altercation with 34-year-old Jesse Tern. Thursday 41-year-old Julio Morales was interviewed and he allegedly admitted to helping Tern and 28-year-old Rachel Rowe as they drove their Toyota to Eastern Shasta County with the dead body of David Borders in the backseat. Also Thursday the RPD SWAT Team descended on a home on Murieta Loop with arrest warrants for Tern and Rowe. They were arrested without a struggle. It’s believed that on the night of the killing Rowe, Tern and Borders were driving on Arizona Street in Redding and were arguing about the pot deal when Tern shot Borders. They then allegedly recruited the assistance of Morales in disposing of the car and the body. Tern and Rowe have been booked into jail for murder. Morales is charged with arson, conspiracy and accessory to murder.
