Two Horses Killed In Collision With Chip Truck

A chip truck collided with a pair of horses in the Hat Creek area early Friday morning, killing one of them. The big rig hauling a belly dumper trailer hit the two horses just after 5AM on Highway 89 about 8 miles south of the cross with Highway 299. One horse was killed instantly and the other one was injured badly enough that it had to be put down by a CHP Officer. The truck was heavily damaged and required a tow.
