An event this weekend will assist a family who has been struck by dual tragedies. 8-year-old Caden and his 9-year-old sister Rylee suffer from a rare and terminal disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. They are gradually losing the ability to walk, talk, or eat and eventually the disease will take their lives. Their parents are trying to make them as comfortable as possible but they have depleted their resources through extensive travel for experimental treatments that didn’t work. The fundraising event is this Saturday night from 6PM to 10:30PM at the Final Draft Brewing Company on California Street in Downtown Redding. For every pint purchased, a Dollar will go toward the purchase of a van that can carry two wheelchairs. There will also be a raffle and silent auction with many donated items from a wide variety of local businesses. It’s an all ages event with fun things for kids to do as well.
