Jury Convicts Man After Threatening Library Security Guard

A Shasta County Jury has found a man guilty of charges from an incident at the Redding Library. Joseph Oscar Rodriguez Sr. had previously been ejected from the library for being drunk, so when a security guard saw him approaching and seemingly intoxicated, the guard told him he could not go inside. Rodriguez responded with threats, saying he would stab and kill the guard if he tried to stop him. Redding Police were called, and they found Rodriguez nearby with a knife in his pocket. Thursday Rodriguez was convicted of criminal threats and carrying a concealed dagger.
