Bethel Church Expected To Gain Approval Of 100-Million Dollar Complex

The huge Bethel Church complex planned for Collyer Drive could get final approval at Tuesday night’s Redding City Council meeting. The planning commission unanimously approved the project by the megachurch in September. The 39 acres at Collyer and Twin Towers Drive would have two main buildings totaling 171,700 square feet. The location would serve as a church, as well as a campus for Bethel’s School of Supernatural Ministries, which currently meets in the Redding Civic Auditorium. The project is expected to cost nearly $100 Million to construct. Following the planning commission’s approval, 21 appeal letters were filed, mostly by residents of the neighborhood to the west of the site. City staff has been working to debunk those appeals and they’re recommending approval.
