K9 Helps Capture Suspect After High Speed Chase

A car was chased by Anderson Police at more than a hundred miles an hour Thursday night. At 11:44PM an officer was on Highway 273 near Latona Road when he was passed by a southbound Honda Accord. He tried to stop the car but it sped away at triple digit speeds.  Another officer tried to intercept the car at Ox Yoke but the car went through the red light at the intersection and headed east on Ox Yoke Road, crossing into the opposing lane while approaching Interstate 5. Once on the freeway the Honda went south, again speeding up to more than a hundred miles an hour before taking the North Street exit. While on the offramp, the driver jumped from the moving car, which rolled onto the shoulder. The driver ran east across the freeway to try to get away, but a CHP helicopter was tracking from overhead and saw the suspect hiding behind a business on North Street. With an assist from Aero the K9, 45-year-old Jason Wrey Blair was captured.  He was allegedly under the influence of Methamphetamine, and he was booked into jail on several charges.
