A woman arrested for drunk driving Wednesday night in Redding reportedly admitted to police that she had crashed her car on purpose. Just before 10 O’clock a Plymouth Breeze left Hartnell Avenue near Shotwick Trail and the V.A. Clinic. The car flipped over and struck two REU transformers and an electrical box. 28-year-old Rebecca Alexis Moxley allegedly admitted she had been drinking and said she intentionally drove the car off the road. She was wearing a seatbelt and escaped the crash with minor cuts and bruises. After being cleared at a hospital Moxley was booked into jail for driving under the influence of alcohol. Power was knocked out for multiple homes and businesses, as well as a wastewater lift station. A generator was brought to the scene to keep the sewer working.
