A Tehama County man with a record has received a long sentence for a knife assault. A man confronted 51-year-old Herman Cochran Jr. because Cochran had been using a quad runner that belonged to the man’s son. Cochran got angry and stabbed the man in the arm with a pocket knife. He was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with special allegations due to his prior convictions and was sentenced to 20 years in state prison.
