Teens Arrested After Break-In At R&R Meats

Christmas Eve day started out in Redding with a break-in at a butcher shop by three teenagers, according to police. At around 12:30AM the alarm sounded at R&R Meats on East Street. Someone driving by saw three boys running away from the store and called 9-1-1. As some officers arrived at the store and found a smashed out window, others canvassed the neighborhood. Officer Trevor Kuyper stopped three boys at Continental and Yuba and the witness identified them as the same boys he had seen running. They had apparently planned on stealing the cash register but when the alarm went off they were scared away. They didn’t actually take anything. The boys, who range in age from 14 to 17, were booked into juvenile hall for burglary, conspiracy and vandalism.
