Trinity Deputies Capture Suspects Accused Of Robbery

Two Trinity County men have been arrested on suspicion of robbing a couple. Last Tuesday deputies were called to the Sydney Gulch RV Park in Weaverville. A woman said that two men and a woman had knocked on her door and accused her of stealing money during a Marijuana deal. She said the trio assaulted her and her boyfriend and stole her cell phone. She told deputies she knew the two men as 48-year-old Jim Vanlue of Weaverville and 35-year-old Cody Bickle of Douglas City. On Thursday sheriff’s detectives found Vanlue and Bickle driving in Weaverville and arrested them at Tops Supermarket. Syringes and Heroin was allegedly found in their car. A search warrant was then served at Vanlue’s home and the victim’s cell phone was reportedly found in one of his vehicles, along with 2 guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Vanlue is not allowed to have guns due to his prior felonies. Both men were booked into jail on multiple charges. The identity of the female suspect is not known.
