Man Sentenced To 6 Years After Thefts From Multiple Businesses

An Orland man who had a massive stockpile of stolen goods at his property has been sentenced. A search warrant was served in March at the property on Newville Road after a CHP airplane did a flyover and spotted a number of vehicles that had been reported stolen. In addition to motorcycles, cars and pickups, officials also found chain saws, tree climbing equipment, computers, and a wide variety of tools. Victims included several towing companies, Corning Lumber, Linnet’s Tire Shop, Orland Saw and Mower, the Chico Police Department, and many individuals. 34-year-old Michael Anthony Rogers was on the run for a while before his arrest. Convicted of possession of a gun by a felon and 4 counts of grand theft auto, Rogers has been sentenced to 6 years in state prison.
