Logging Company Pays Settlement For Siskiyou Wildfire

A logging company has paid the federal government for a wildfire they started 5 years ago. In August of 2012 the Dillon Fire broke out in Siskiyou County. It apparently had started from a trailer hauling improperly secured logging equipment, which dragged on Highway 96 and threw sparks into dry grass on the roadside, igniting 21 separate fires. They burned together to scorch a total of 318 acres in the Six Rivers and Klamath National Forests. CLT Logging has paid $1.95 Million to settle the case against them.
