Couple Faces 10 Years In Prison For Methamphetamine Trafficking

A federal grand jury has indicted a Chico couple accused of trafficking large quantities of Methamphetamine into Shasta County. On December 7th a traffic stop was made on a northbound vehicle being driven on Interstate 5 in Shasta County by 52-year-old Curtis Dale Sawyer. A K9 reportedly alerted on the car and a search turned up over three pounds of Meth. A search was then done at the home in Chico that Sawyer shares with 49-year-old Ann Marie Vance. That reportedly led to the discovery of more Meth and $107,000 cash. Vance was stopped near the home in a car that allegedly contained another 8.3 pounds of Meth. More drugs, cash and 5 guns were reportedly found in Vance’s storage unit. If convicted, Sawyer and Vance each face a mandatory minimum of 10 years in federal prison and a possible life sentence, as well as $10 Million fines.
