REU Announces Rates Will Drop By 2%

Electric rates for the City of Redding are on their way down. Redding Electric Utility says its customers are expected to have lower rates in the next two years than they had in 2014. On November 7th a scheduled 1.5% increase was canceled. That, along with a couple of surcharge eliminations, means a decrease of more than 2%. Some reconnection and other fees were eliminated last month. Overall the changes are expected to save the customer base around $200,000 annually. Details are at reupower.com.
