Shasta County Public Health officials are reporting a death from this years flu outbreak. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, there have been 27 lab confirmed deaths among people between the ages of 0 and 64 this year across the state. There are also a number of other respiratory viruses circulating in Shasta County now that are not the flu. Health officials are urging residents to get their flu shots that may help reduce the symptoms of the flu virus.
