Redding Robbery Suspect Captured In Colorado

A man who allegedly robbed the Gas 4 Less store in Downtown Redding in December has been arrested in Colorado, according to Redding Police. At 10:12PM on December 27th a man walked into the mini mart on Pine Street and threatened to kill the store clerk with a large framed handgun while demanding money. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash on fled on foot. Although the man had covered his face with a t-shirt, the clerk recognized him as a customer who had been in the store just prior to the robbery. Surveillance images were shared and the man was identified as 36-year-old Lawrence Edward Williams of Redding. According to police, the images of Williams were spread across social media and he was found nearly 1200 miles away in Westminster, Colorado. When officers arrested him on Friday, he apparently was found with a concealed handgun. He is in custody in Colorado and is awaiting extradition back to California.
