The sheriff of Modoc County will be retiring and will not be seeking a 3rd term. Sheriff Mike Poindexter made the announcement that he will not be seeking reelection and will be retiring at the end of his current term. Poindexter has worked for numerous police agencies including the CHP and the Alturas Police Department. He has endorsed Modoc County Undersheriff Tex Gowdy the be his successor.
