Shooting Suspect Arrested, 2nd Suspect Sought By Deputies

A suspect has been arrested and the sheriff’s office is seeking a second after a shooting incident in Anderson. Tuesday night deputies were called to Shasta Regional Medical Center to investigate after a man showed up suffering from a gunshot. 42-year-old Christopher Meagher told deputies he had been assaulted at his home in the 17000 block of Andrea Way in Anderson. Meagher identified one of the suspects as his neighbor, 42-year-old Robert Willis Slavens. He told deputies that Slavens and another man showed up at his home and were both armed with firearms. They allegedly assaulted him and one of them shot Meagher once during the a struggle. On Wednesday, deputies received word that Meagher was at a residence on First Street in Anderson. Deputies determined that the homeowner was on probation and at 4:42PM a probation search was done. Slavens was found inside and arrested. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail. The identity of the 2nd suspect is still not known.
