Driver Escapes Injury After Pickup Strikes Cows In Tehama County

CHP Officers and Tehama County Deputies have been wrangling cattle for a few hours near Corning Thursday morning after a collision with a pickup truck. At 3:20AM a pickup on Highway 99W near Hawley Road ran into two cows described as “very large” by officers on scene. The Ford F150 was destroyed, though the driver escaped injury. The cattle weren’t so lucky. Both suffered severe injuries and were shot by CHP officers to put them out of their misery. The road was totally blocked by wreckage and carnage until a little after 5 O’clock.
