Man Sentenced To 4 Years For Attacking Women In Cottonwood

A Shasta County man convicted last month of assaulting two women has been given the maximum possible sentence. A jury found 30-year-old Stephen Salvadore Giordano guilty of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury and battery. He attacked two women in Downtown Cottonwood last July. Friday he was sentenced to four years in state prison. He should not be confused with 55-year-old Stephen Matthew Giordano, who initially claimed insanity after allegedly stabbing his 83-year-old father to death at his Shasta Lake home in 2016. That Stephen Giordano is still in Shasta County Jail on more than a Million Dollars bail pending a jury trial set for February 27th.
