A Siskiyou County man has been found guilty in the beating death of a Happy Camp man, according to the Siskiyou Daily News. 48-year-old Kristopher McCraw was found dead in his home on Curly Jack Road on December 29th, 2015 following his death on Christmas Day. An autopsy showed the cause of death to be homicide by means of blunt force trauma. Two men were arrested about 2 weeks later and charged in connection with the murder. 50-year-old Michael Franklin Moore of Medford, Oregon was taken into custody in the Yreka area. His half brother, 39-year-old Jerry Edward Brink of Happy Camp was captured on Salmon River Road in the western part of the county. Siskiyou County Sheriff’s investigators eventually convinced Moore to confess. He said that he and his brother had been drinking heavily. A solid motive was never established, but McCraw was killed as a result of multiple forceful kicks to his head. Moore, who pled guilty to several crimes, has not yet Benn sentenced, but DA. Kirk Andrus says he could get up to 6 years. Brink’s conviction on second degree murder could send him to prison for 15 years to life.
