Police: Man Turns Himself In After Robbing Couple In Red Bluff

Red Bluff Police have arrested a man accused of robbing a couple, who apparently knew him. At around 5:30PM Monday afternoon officers were called to the Red Bluff Wal-Mart parking lot by Amy and Cody Ball, who said they had been robbed at gunpoint by 24-year-old Dennis Paul Womack, who had fled in a black Honda Civic. When officers arrived they found no sign of the victims or the suspect. The Balls had apparently already gone to the police station. They explained they had met in the parking lot at Womack’s request for an unspecified reason. They said when they got there Womack approached them and demanded $100 while lifting the front of his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked in his waistband. After getting the money, Womack reportedly fled. Tuesday morning Red Bluff’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit tracked Womack to the Woodson Bridge RV Park in the Corning area, but apparently Womack had heard they were looking for him and showed up at the Red Bluff Police Station to turn himself in. Charged with robbery and a felony probation violation, Womack is being held without bail.
