Man Who Accidentally Shot Himself Sentenced To 2 Years

A Red Bluff man has been sentenced for a couple of crimes, both with odd twists. 42-year-old Alejandro Barajas was manipulating a 22 caliber bolt action rifle when it went off and sent a round into his forearm. It doesn’t matter whether or not it belonged to him. Being a convicted felon, it was an additional felony just to have it in his hands. On another occasion, Barajas was arrested for drunk driving. He somehow convinced the arresting deputy that he was someone else. The false identity carried through the booking process, and it wasn’t until his release hours later that jail staff discovered the ruse. For both offenses, Barajas has been given a 2 year prison sentence.
