Redding Doctor Charged With 19 Additional Felonies

The hot water is apparently getting deeper for a Redding doctor accused of sex crimes against his patients. Neurologist Hamid Rabiee was initially charged February 8th with 9 felony counts, including sexual exploitation of a patient, sexual battery by restraint and false imprisonment. The accusations were made by four female patients, and they involve acts allegedly committed over the course of five years. Each of the four accusers apparently contacted police independently and had no knowledge of the allegations made by the others, but all of them accused the doctor of touching their intimate areas during exams, both over and under clothing, with no medical reason to do so. Since the initial charges were filed, four more women have come forward, leading to Tuesday’s filing of 19 additional felony counts, including some involving penetration. Doctor Rabiee’s license to practice medicine was suspended by the State Medical Board on February 14th and Redding Police Investigators continue to hear from multiple women making similar complaints.
