Council Delays Decision On Portable Showers For The Homeless

A group that wants to make portable showers and toilets available for the homeless population in Redding is no closer to making that a reality than they were before Tuesday night’s meeting of the city council. The Clean Break Partnership was asking the council to change city policy so that they could bring a trailer for use on public property. Over 169 people took advantage of a pilot program last year with a rented trailer. After a lengthy discussion the council decided to wait until June to discuss it further.
