Coroner ID’s Man Killed In Alleged DUI Crash In Downtown Redding

A name of a man killed in an apparently alcohol-related crash in Downtown Redding has been released by the Shasta County Coroners Office. The family of 24-year-old Matthew Cave Sieglock of Redding has been notified of his passing. He was one of three passengers in a 1972 Chevy that was westbound on South Street just after 8 O’clock Wednesday night. 41-year-old Larose Marie Kelly of Garberville was at the wheel, and police say she had a red light as she entered the California Street intersection. A 2017 Toyota pickup plowed into the right side of the Chevy, killing Sieglock and trapping all but one of the passengers until they were extricated by Redding Fire personnel. The driver of the pickup was not injured, but the truck knocked a light pole over, and left it suspended by wires. Kelly was evaluated by Redding Police at the scene and found to be under the influence of alcohol. After she’s released from the hospital she’ll be booked into jail for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Her two surviving passengers were also injured, one of them requiring hospitalization. Witnesses are urged to contact Redding Police.
