No Violations Found During Sex Offender Sweep

A check of registered sex offenders was done Thursday by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department. The operation is called “Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement”, or “SAFE”. Deputies visited the homes of 18 people who have been convicted of sex crimes and are now on probation or parole. The point is to be sure they live where they claim, and searches are done to be sure they don’t have any banned materials. During Thursday’s operation, six searches were done and nothing illegal was found. “SAFE” sweeps are done several times throughout the year on a random basis.
