A man died after he was run over on Interstate Five near Lakehead on Sunday. It was about noon when a car stopped near Antler Summit for reasons that are not yet clear. What is known is that 31-year-old Benjamin Kennedy Riney of San Francisco was a passenger in that car and he got out after the car stopped on the freeway. Traffic was moving slowly, again for some unknown reason, and Riney was struck and killed by a big rig. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has notified the man’s family and completed a post mortem exam. The CHP is still investigating the incident and are seeking witnesses.
