Woman Arrested For Felony DUI After Crashing Into RPD Patrol Vehicle

A Redding Police Officer sustained minor injuries early Monday morning when a patrol vehicle was struck by an allegedly drunk driver. The crash happened at around 2:30AM at the intersection of Hilltop and Dana. Police tell us a woman was extremely intoxicated and was driving on four flat tires when she rammed the back of a Redding Police Ford Interceptor SUV. The officer had a medical check for minor complaints of pain, and was released by medical personnel at the scene. Even a minor injury is enough to make it a felony DUI. It was apparently a busy weekend for DUI’s in Redding, with 7 reported Saturday night and 4 Sunday night.
