The Shasta County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to make immediate plans for expanding the capacity of Shasta County Jail. An additional 60 beds could be attained by expanding into the two courtrooms within the jail building. However, the county will have to wait until the June budget revise to be sure the new courthouse construction funding remains in the budget.
