A man on an all terrain vehicle was able to get away from Trinity County Deputies, but not from their K9. Wednesday deputies in the Hayfork area tried to stop a Quadrunner being driven on Highway 3 north of town. The rider fled at high speed north on Carr Creek Road. After several miles he abandoned the ATV and fled on foot into the woods. Deputies were joined by the CHP and Forest Service Rangers as they set up a perimeter and let Johnny the K9 find a track. He located 27-year-old Michael Richard Willey of Utah hiding in a drainage. Willey was captured and booked into jail on several charges.
