A Corning man suffered major head trauma in a crash in Tehama County on Monday, according to the Corning Observer. The newspaper reports that 24-year-old Jose Omar Gomez was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Paskenta Road south of Gyle Monday afternoon when he drifted off the roadway. The car went into a ditch and slammed into a raised driveway culvert. Gomez was not wearing a seatbelt and had to be extricated from the mangled car before being transported to Enloe Hospital. Before he was transported, the CHP arrested Gomez for driving under the influence of alcohol.
