Woman Who Had Sex With Teen Boys Sentenced To 11 Years In Prison

A woman who counseled high school aged foster kids in Redding and Red Bluff has been sentenced to prison after admitting to having sex with at least two teen boys. 36-year-old Jacqueline Bryce Herron worked for Victor Youth Services in the Redding area and Alternatives for Violence in Red Bluff in 2015 and 2016. While Herron was working at the group home and a continuation high school she had sex with at least two 16-year-old boys. In December she entered no contest pleas to 28 felony counts. She made no deal with the District Attorney’s Office and had no promise of a reduced sentence, so she could have gotten the maximum of more than 29 years in prison. Following a hearing Tuesday, Herron was given a sentence of 11 years 8 months in prison. The defense wanted Herron to remain free while seeking treatment, but the judge pointed out the vulnerable nature of the boys and how she took advantage of that through her position of trust.
