Officials have determined the identity of a bicyclist who was killed in a collision with a motorcycle near Shasta Dam Tuesday night. 32-year-old Cristobal Heitmann Montero of Redding was riding a Cervelo bicycle eastbound on Shasta Dam Boulevard about a mile-and-a-half west of Lake Boulevard when he was struck head-on by a Honda motorcycle ridden by 28-year-old Richard Machado of Marysville. Montero was declared dead at the scene. Machado suffered major injuries and was rushed to Mercy Medical Center in critical condition. Montero’s family has been notified and a post-mortem exam is scheduled. The CHP is still investigating the crash.
