The City of Redding is accepting application for retail cannabis businesses. There will only be ten allowed, and they’ll each be charged a business license fee of around $28,000, in addition to the litany of other fees charged to do business in Redding, and the fees levied by the State cannabis bureaucracy. There’s also a $1000 non-refundable fee just to submit a proposal. All the proposals need to be submitted by June First, and they’ll be reviewed by a panel of city staff.
