A Cottonwood man is accused of causing severe injuries to another Cottonwood man during a fight. At 11:40AM last Thursday Tehama County Deputies were sent to Tabitha Court on reports of two men fighting in the street. When they arrived they found 41-year-old Brian Paul Carmack unconscious in the middle of the road. As he came to, he was disoriented and couldn’t remember what happened to him. He had a head injury and a severe injury to his face. After getting an ambulance to take Carmack to a hospital, deputies asked around and found some witnesses. They told the deputies that Carmack had been fighting with 39-year-old Dustin Alan Mingarelli. They said eventually Mingarelli knocked Carmack to the ground and then kicked him in the head before leaving. Investigators were seeking Mingarelli for several days until he turned himself in for questioning. He’s been booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, assault with great bodily injury and mayhem.
