The Redding Chamber of Commerce has never before endorsed a candidate for the Board of Supervisors before the primary election. That changed with their endorsement Thursday of Shasta Builders Exchange President Joe Chimenti for the District One seat. Chamber President Jake Mangas says he has everything the business community looks for in a candidate. The District One seat is held by longtime local politician and Redding native David Kehoe. The other challenger is former Redding City councilperson Missy McArthur.
Shasta County Sheriff Candidate John Greene has been endorsed by the Shasta County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Greene is challenging Tom Bosenko, who has held the office since 2006. Bosenko has been with the department since 1979. Greene retired last year as a sergeant for the sheriff’s office.
