Man Convicted Of Child Molestation Sentenced To Prison

A 66-year-old Shasta County child molester may spend the rest of his days in prison after being sentenced on Friday to 22 years in state prison. Because he was convicted of multiple violent offences, he must serve at least 85% of that 22 years before being eligible for parole. Kelle Darley was found guilty by a jury in February of 11 counts and three special enhancements involving substantial sexual conduct with a 12-year-old girl who was staying with him. The repeated assaults happened during a 2-week period in the summer of 2009. During a long sentencing hearing Friday, Darley admitted to touching the girl once, saying he used poor judgment.
