Man Accused Of Drugging Woman Before Allegedly Raping Her

A man from Live Oak is accused of drugging a woman and then raping her during the Red Bluff Round-Up, according to the Corning Observer. The paper’s website says 20-year-old Zachary James Harrison was formally charged last week with rape of a drugged victim and rape of a victim unconscious of the act. Tehama County D.A. Gregg Cohen is quoted as saying Harrison and the 21-year-old victim were with a group drinking a the rodeo in April. He said the victim remembers curling up with a blanket in a chair and falling asleep, then waking up to the defendant on top of her. The woman sought treatment at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. After his arraignment, Harrison posted his $100,000 bail and was released.
