Both kinds of minor alcohol stings were done in Redding Thursday night. An underage decoy went into 13 different retail businesses trying to buy alcoholic beverages without an ID. Only one store failed the test. An employee at the Sure Stop Gas and Food on South Market Street sold beer to the minor and was given a citation. During the other sting operation, an underage decoy approached customers in two store parking lots asking if they would buy alcohol for them. Ten people were asked and two of them agreed to make the buy. One man was given a citation, but the other man, 36-year-old Kyle York, is on probation and had 4 outstanding warrants, one of them a felony. He was booked into jail.
