Crews Contain Fire At 7 Acres Despite Blustery Conditions

A vegetation fire on the west side of Anderson was stopped quickly Wednesday afternoon. It’s located in the area of West Anderson Drive and Olinda Road. It was first reported as a vehicle into vegetation in the area of the Anderson High School farm. The first arriving firefighters at around 3:50PM reported a grass and brush fire burning 3 to 5 acres with a rapid rate of spread. A full wildland response was called as Cal-Fire took command from the Anderson Fire Protection District. The forward progress of the fire was halted within a half-hour after burning an estimated 7 acres.
