A family is mourning the loss of a man killed in a crash in Modoc County, and they’re hoping the public can help find his dog. At 1:30PM Wednesday afternoon 48-year-old James Gerhard Johnson died in a rollover on Highway 139 about 12 miles north of Canby. He was deceased when deputies arrived on scene, and the CHP is investigating the crash. The family has been notified, and they would very much like to recover Johnson’s dog, which was seen running away after the crash. Her name is Lena and she’s a 4-year-old brown and tan medium size shepherd mix. If any travelers happen to see Lena they’re asked to call the Modoc County Sheriff’s Office at 233-4416.
