The Shasta County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the woman killed by an errant driver at a bank in the City of Shasta Lake last week. Deputies were called at 11:15AM Friday morning to the Tri-Counties Bank on Shasta Dam Boulevard. They found 79-year-old Bonnie Lou Tibbits of Shasta Lake suffering severe injuries. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where she later died. 58-year-old Deborah Beaupre had been pulling into a parking space when she apparently hit the accelerator instead of the brake. Her car jumped the curb and pinned Tibbits against the walk-up ATM. The sheriff’s office says Beaupre was not under the influence of anything. The investigation is still underway and any witnesses are asked to call 245-6540.
