A couple of Redding Police Officers have been recognized for their drunk driving arrest numbers. Last year there were 396 people arrested for DUI by Redding Police. 42% of those arrests were made by Officer Jacob Provencio. His 166 arrests have earned him the “Top Cop” Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving. They held their Northern California Central Valley Law Enforcement Award ceremony in Lafayette Wednesday. Also recognized was Officer Chris Staup. His 43 DUI arrests last year accounted for 11% of the RPD total.
