Redding Police are asking for help identifying a woman who is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in East Redding Wednesday night. Witnesses told officers that as 39-year-old Divyesh Patel of Redding was turning left from northbound Bechelli Lane to westbound Hartnell Avenue, the woman had begun crossing the street outside the crosswalk, walking south from the northwest corner. Police say Patel had a green light when he made the turn and was unable to stop in time. The woman, who appears to be in her early-60’s, has not regained consciousness and is in critical condition at Mercy Medical Center. Anyone who might know who she is should call RPD at 225-4200.
