Federal assistance has been approved for the state’s costs in fighting the Creek Fires. The state made the request Sunday as Cal-Fire reported 478 homes threatened, as well as infrastructure, utilities and watershed. Cal-Fire also estimated that mandatory evacuations initially covered approximately 900 people. With the approval, FEMA will reimburse 75% of the state’s firefighting costs.
