Crews have gotten a line around a wind-driven fire that broke out south of Millville Plains on Saturday. The Bascom Fire is 100% contained after burning 328 acres.
The Lane Fire off Highway 36 near Paynes Creek is more than 3,800 acres and 45% contained on steep, rugged terrain. Several hundred homes had been threatened but they were protected by firefighting efforts. All evacuation orders have been downgraded to evacuation warnings and residents may return to their homes.
The Stoll Fire near Stoll and Baker Roads west of Red Bluff has been re-surveyed and is only 268 acres. Forward progress has been stopped and it’s now 75% contained. Multiple residential and commercial structures have been destroyed and evacuations remain in effect for Baker, Paskenta, Wilder and Stoll Roads.
