A Corning man is going to prison for using his girlfriend’s young son as a punching bag. 28-year-old Jerry Billingsly was arrested in April. He had been living with a woman when her 10-year-old daughter witnessed an incident involving her 7-year-old son. Billingsly punched the boy in the face about 10 times while wearing a boxing glove. He also picked him up by the throat and held him against a wall with his feet off the ground as he choked him. When the young boy’s grandmother asked him about his black eye, the sister told the story and the grandmother called Corning Police. Convicted of felony child abuse, Billingsly has been sentenced to 4 years in state prison.
